Grivel: An International Challenge for the Implementation of Oracle NetSuite
As an Alliance Partner Oracle NetSuite at Green Tree we thrive on challenges and are committed to increasingly ambitious, global, and highly integrated projects from the development phase onward.
In 2024, we were approached by Grivel, a historic brand operating in the field of mountaineering, climbing, and outdoor equipment.
The company immediately showed strong motivation to carry out a true technological upgrade—both in terms of software and process management, and through the enhancement of its hardware infrastructure.
Thanks to close collaboration with Green Tree’s project managers, it was possible to guide the company’s teams toward adopting a modern system focused on productivity, warehouse traceability, and operational control.

THE GRIVEL CASE
With over 200 years of history, Grivel is a family-owned Italian company with a strong international presence..
Its production, renowned in the industry for high levels of innovation and design, is based in Valle d’Aosta. Most of its products—such as ice axes, crampons, helmets, ice screws, harnesses, and backpacks—are exported to over 50 countries worldwide, including the United States, South America, China, India, and Japan.
The company’s organization is lean, with a focus on ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability—both through the use of high-performance materials and through a supply chain that enhances Italian craftsmanship.

To continue its path of consolidation, company leaders and management immediately expressed their willingness to embrace change by introducing new technologies and processes in warehouse and supply chain management.
During the analysis phase, it became clear that Oracle NetSuite would not only meet the company’s technological upgrade needs but also support the transition toward more standardized, streamlined, and efficient operational practices across the organization.
Strategy and Achieved Results
In agreement with the company, the Green Tree team defined two distinct phases to complete the implementation of the new management system.
In February 2025, with the first go-live, the Accounting department immediately began using NetSuite’s powerful native reporting engine. In April 2025, with the second go-live and the launch of operations both in Italy and the United States, integrations with external software systems were successfully completed.
This second phase proved particularly complex—not only due to the need to coordinate with overseas partners but also to ensure the proper flow of data between the company system and third-party platforms.
Specifically, the NetSuite system was integrated with:
- Shopify: a B2C platform for managing sales, payments, shipments, and marketing for both the Italian and U.S. stores.
- Elastic: a B2B tool that enhances access to and interpretation of company data, also through process automation.
- SPS Commerce: a cloud-based platform for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) of commercial data such as orders, inventory, shipments, and invoices, designed to improve collaboration among companies within the supply chain.

What are the benefits of warehouse digitalization?
WMS, Demand Planning e Manufacturing Mobile are the three key NetSuite modules that have enabled smooth and intuitive management of picking, packing, and inter-warehouse transfers, more precise and strategic production planning, and real-time tracking of production order status.
The company is now able to:
- Monitor the progress of orders at any time;
- Optimize production planning;
- Improve warehouse management with real-time stock visibility;
- Ensure immediate and secure data exchange with third-party software and platforms.
With the implementation at Grivel, Oracle NetSuite has once again demonstrated its ability to integrate seamlessly with other software. Thanks to Green Tree’s project design, it has also proven its capacity to adapt perfectly to the growth and operational efficiency needs of an international company.
